Hi, I am Carmel.


I grew up in Mildura, Victoria and now live in tropical Cairns, Queensland with my husband and two daughters. My love for photography began during early high school and it has only grown ever since. I was unsure of what I wanted to do when I finished school so I took a few courses in photography and then landed a newspaper photographer gig in my hometown. I worked there for almost 7 years when I decided I wanted to do my own thing. COVID hit surely after and my plans didn’t quite go as I had hoped. From there I had began my motherhood journey and soon moved to Ballarat, Victoria. My photography was well and truly paused as I adjusted to becoming a mum and moving home, twice in a space of a year, ending up in the Far North.

I am slowly getting back into what I love but of course it comes with challenges being a mum and living far from family. But it’s been so great to meet new people and explore my work.
